A year before graduating from Parsons School of Design / The New School, André was honored with the Prix Picto de la Photographie de Mode, marking the beginning of a distinguished career in professional photography.
From the outset, André has been drawn to the deep connection between humans and nature. After spending several years working across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East—primarily in fashion and advertising, as well as on humanitarian assignments for organizations such as the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations—an even stronger passion for portrait photography emerged. Teaching became an integral part of this journey, shaping a more profound understanding of photography as both an art and a form of storytelling.
While living in Egypt, André was profoundly influenced by Cairo’s mesmerizing urban landscape and dynamic human interactions. This period sparked an exploration of architectural and interior photography—always maintaining a connection to nature and the human presence.
Regular visits to Sweden serve as a way to reconnect with personal roots. Currently, André is working on Lägsta Punkten, a landscape project centered around Sweden’s lowest geographical point near Åhus, the place of childhood memories.
Throughout this journey, André has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Picto Prix Jeune Photographe, the Hasselblad Foundation San Michele Award, the JL Eklunds Hantverkstiftelse, the Längmanska Kulturfonden, and Kristianstad Kommuns Kulturpris, among others.
Now based in Enghien-les-Bains, just outside Paris, André continues to explore the ever-evolving relationship between people, places, and the stories they tell through photography.
